Chicago Chapter holds protest at CME

The Chicago Chapter of the FMST held a small but spirited protest at noon on April 15, 2011 in front of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.  The protest, in support of the Family Farm Defenders, was against price fixing by the CME, specifically in the dairy industry.  Attached hereto is a an informational flyer on the CME price fixing.

Additionally, the Chicago Chapter joined in an evening discussion with farmers from Wisconsin and food sovereignty activists in Chicago.  The discussion focused on the inter-connectedness of the struggles of family farmers and the urban food activists for wholesome chemical and GMO free foods grown in a sustainable environmentally sound manner.
