The Brazil Popular Front calls for “direct elections now” and an emergency program after Temer is removed from office

The Brazil Popular Front presented its proposals to re-establish democratic Constitutional order in Brazil, defend national sovereignty, deal with the economic crisis, revert the destruction of the state and protect the rights of the working class.

The prerequisite of these measures is to put an end to the putschist government that is ruling the country after the coup that overthrew President Dilma Rousseff—by electing a new Head of State and establishing a government that represents the progressivist and democratic people’s political forces.

150,000 People filled the enormous Copacabana beach in an historical act demanding “Direct Elections Now!”

150,000 people participated this Sunday (May 28, 2017) in a historical act for direct elections, at the Copacabana beach. The protest was convened by artists and organized by the Brazil Popular Front and People Without Fear, initiatives that gather hundreds of popular movements, union centrals and leftist parties. The demonstration began at 11am and the beach remained full until 7pm.

In the last four days, 170 thousand people attended the second National Fair of Land Reform, in São Paulo (SP), that closed this Sunday (May 7, 2017). According to the Landless Workers' Movement (MST), the event organizer, the event outshined the success of its first edition in 2015, when 150 thousand visitors attended the Fair.

Brazil: Artists and politicians defend agroecology and the agrarian reform in MST’s fair

The conference “Healthy Food: A Right for Everyone”, which took place this Saturday May 6, 2017, became a political act in defense of agroecology and the agrarian reform. According to the Landless Rural Workers’ Movement (MST), around 10 thousand people attended the activity, which is part of the Second National Fair of the Agrarian Reform.

Spectacular Protest of Landless Women against the Vale Company

 Early this Tuesday March 7, around 1,500 women of the Landless Workers Movement (MST) paralyzed the industrial complex of Vale Fertilizers Co. at Cubatão (São Paulo) to denounce the debt of the mining company to the Social Security system. Vale is one of the major debtors on the list of the National Treasury General Attorney. The company owes 88 million dollars to the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).
